for the book: pages and co: the bookwanderers
This craft was a fun way to get the kids to be creative and share their artwork. and when you read as many books as we do, you can never have enough bookmarks!
we had each kid create two bookmarks at home, one to keep and one to share. they did this using regular paper or construction paper.
when we met for book club, they brought their bookmarks, and us moms brought a laminator and laminating sheets. while the kids ate and played, we laminated and cut their bookmarks for them and arranged them on a table.
we enjoyed a lively book discussion before having the kids line up at the table from oldest to youngest to each choose a bookmark. (we chose oldest to youngest just to switch things up a bit, because it’s almost always the other way around!)
everyone left with a hand made momento of the day. it was fun to see their creativity and personalities shine through their bookmarks!
